Phoenix's desert climate and car-oriented layout mean public restrooms are often tied to parks, sports venues and shopping centers rather than street-level facilities. Here is where to find them.

Phoenix Parks

South Mountain Park โ€” the largest municipal park in the United States โ€” has restroom facilities at the main trailheads. Papago Park near the Phoenix Zoo has facilities at multiple picnic areas. Encanto Park has comfort stations near the recreation center.

Desert Botanical Garden

The Desert Botanical Garden in Papago Park allows restroom access to ticketed visitors and often to those simply visiting the gift shop area without full admission.

Camelback Mountain

The Echo Canyon and Cholla trailhead parking lots at Camelback Mountain both have portable or permanent restroom facilities, though they can be crowded on busy weekend mornings.

Tip: QuikTrip (QT) gas stations are ubiquitous in Phoenix and universally have clean, accessible restrooms. If you see a QT, you have a reliable restroom option.

Phoenix Public Library

The Burton Barr Central Library and all branch locations are open to the public. The Burton Barr library is a landmark building downtown with excellent facilities.

Shopping Malls

Scottsdale Fashion Square, Chandler Fashion Center, Arrowhead Towne Center โ€” all major Valley malls have clean restrooms accessible during mall hours.
